Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Dust collects and how that information is used to operate the website, accounts, and multiplayer game.
Information We Collect
Account creation collects an email address, display name, password hash, assigned skin variant, account timestamps, and session token data.
Gameplay can create server-side records such as leaderboard stats, saved player state, moderation records, last known IP information, and world persistence data.
How We Use Information
We use account data to authenticate players, recover accounts, keep sessions active, and connect players to their game state.
We use gameplay and moderation data to run the multiplayer service, display leaderboards, investigate abuse, enforce bans, and improve game balance and reliability.
Local Storage
The website stores the active auth token, player id, display name, and fullscreen preference in browser local storage so the game can keep a session between page loads.
You can clear this local data through your browser settings or by logging out where the interface provides that option.
Password reset emails are sent through Resend when you request account recovery.
Reset links contain a temporary token and expire after the configured reset window.
Sharing
We share information with infrastructure providers only as needed to host the game, store data, send email, and protect the service.
We may disclose information when required by law or when needed to investigate abuse, security issues, or threats to the service.
Contact
Questions about privacy can be sent through the contact channels provided by Codebeast or the Dust project.
